Lovćen Handball Club The Lovćen Handball Club was founded at the beginning of 1949 in Cetinje. The love for handball born then has been preserved to this day, and handball has been the number one sport in the Montenegrin capital for decades.

During its long history, RK Lovćen achieved numerous valuable results, confirming its primacy in Montenegrin handball and establishing itself as one of the most successful men's handball clubs in the region. After realizing the decades-long dream that many generations of RK Lovćen dreamed of, the club in the 1987/1988 season. won first division status in the SFRY league, which at that time was one of the strongest in the world.

After that, Lovćen grew, developed and survived, creating new champions, national team players and world-renowned handball names. After the vice-champion title in the SFRY league in the youth competition from Ajdovščina in 1979 and the selected placement in the First Federal League in 1988, Lovćen achieved new valuable results in the next two decades. Since the 1997/1998 season. the dizzying rise of Lovcen begins. The club was a finalist of the Yugoslavian Cup and with the third place in the Yugoslav Championship secured participation in the international competition - Cup of Cities

After that, the club was vice-champion of Yugoslavia in the three following seasons. In the 1999/2000 season. Lovćen won the title of champion of Yugoslavia, for the first time in its long history, and the following season (2000/2001) also won the double crown, as well as fifth place in the European Champions League. In the years that followed, the club became a regular participant in European competitions: Champions League, EHF Cup and Cities Cup. In the 2005/2006 season. Lovćen won third place in the joint league of Serbia and Montenegro, while in Montenegro he won first place and became the winner of the Montenegrin Cup. In the following season (2006/2007), Lovćen achieved a success that will remain recorded and especially remembered in the club's history. In the mentioned season, RK Lovćen became the first champion in the independent state of Montenegro, and the cadet team of our club also won the championship title. In the 2007/2008 season. Lovćen was the vice-champion of Montenegro, and the cadet team won first place in the cadet league of Montenegro. In the following three seasons, Lovćen won the Montenegrin Cup, and from 2011 to 2015, he was the absolute ruler of the Montenegrin handball scene, winning four double crowns. All these years, Lovćen has been and remains the pivot of all men's handball national selections.
